Meet Chelsey

Chelsey was born and raised in Southern California, and started her hockey career with roller hockey before taking that passion to the ice rink. She began her ice hockey career playing with her twin brother on boys teams, eventually earning a scholarship to play Division 1 hockey at Northeastern University. Despite significant adversity - including breaking both legs - she was drafted 6th overall by the Boston Blades in the Canadian Women's Hockey Professional League and played three professional seasons in the CWHL. Most recently took her career abroad and played in the Swedish league where she helped her team to a championship title. Chels was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, and in July 2022 she captained Team USA to a Silver medal at the Maccabiah Games. Chels recently took her efforts to help grow the game to Sao Paulo Brazil, where she helped expose and coach hockey. She continues to be a huge advocate for the game, working with the LA Kings Hockey Development group as well as being an independent public speaker to share her story, experiences, and connect with as many people as possible.

Unfortunately, Chels tore her ACL and meniscus playing abroad, but with her hard work and determination, she will be back to competition stronger than ever. Respect. Courage. Chels!
